About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician/Liaison position at CPS Solutions involves providing exceptional service to patients with complex, specialty diseases at Catholic Health Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY. This per diem role focuses on patient engagement, education, and support to improve clinical outcomes through specialty pharmacy services.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a pharmacy liaison or technician.
  • Registered or ability to become registered as a pharmacy technician in New York preferred.
  • Experience interacting with healthcare professionals in a medical clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of benefits investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work preferred.
  • Strong people skills and ability to work with teams across customers.
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software, EMR systems, and dispensing systems preferred.
  • Ability to execute tasks quickly and accurately without predefined processes.
  • Patience to adapt to patients' and customers' preferences while upholding CPS standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a health system specialty pharmacy as an in-clinic technician or liaison.
  • Experience working with various disease states.

Responsibilities

  • Educating leadership and clinic staff on the CPS model to gain their support.
  • Initializing and leading ongoing work in clinics to ensure appropriate patient/CPS engagement.
  • Identifying and meeting every patient who can benefit from specialty pharmacy services upon arrival in the clinic.
  • Explaining the benefits of specialty pharmacy services while respecting patient choice.
  • Successfully enrolling patients into the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Performing benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance work for patient medication access.
  • Overseeing services provided to enrolled patients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness from order entry to final verification.
  • Providing direct support to enrolled patients throughout their therapy regimen, including conducting outbound calls for support and adherence checks.
  • Accepting inbound calls from patients and sharing on-call coverage for 24/7 support.
  • Triaging clinical questions to appropriate clinicians as needed.
  • Designing clinic workflows to enhance the CPS experience and developing efficient processes for medication fulfillment.
  • Participating in conferences and workshops to promote CPS.
