Cleveland Clinic Children’s is a 120-bed hospital that consistently ranks as a national leader in pediatric clinical care by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Children’s Hospitals”. It is part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System and is a non-freestanding children’s hospital that resides on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. In addition to supporting pharmacy operations at the Children's Hospital, technicians have the opportunity to support the outpatient infusion clinic as well as Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National HealthCareer Association (NHA).
  • Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
  • 6 months of hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
  • Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
  • Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
