About The Position
St. Joseph Hospital, located in Bethpage NY, is a not-for-profit full service, 203-bed, community hospital that plays a paramount role in its communities. The Emergency Department cares for over 34,000 patients a year. The hospital has achieved disease specific certification for its Stroke Program which is designated by NYS as a Gold Plus Center. Other vital services include the St. Francis Imaging Center at St. Joseph Hospital, a state-of-the-art cardiac CT scanner, MRI, Vascular Laboratory, Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, Center for Sleep Medicine, Center for Swallowing, Speech & Voice, and comprehensive in-patient medical, critical care and surgical services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- NYS Pharmacy Technician registration required.
- PTCB or NHA certification required.
- Experience in an acute care facility Pharmacy department strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records and assisting in filling Intravenous antibiotics.
- Filling, trouble shooting and maintain automated dispensing machine.
- Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately per established schedule.
- Picks up orders, requisitions and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
