About The Position

Coordinates the daily operations of the pharmacy technician staff at the assigned location. Acts as a daily resource for the technicians and provides guidance regarding technical and operational information. In addition, provides technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure, measure, compound, count, and deliver medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.

  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
