About The Position

The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician – Medication Reconciliation to join our Pharmacy team! Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and assigned tasks including engaging in producing and recording an accurate patient medication list and other pharmacy related functions All activities are performed under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine. Requirements

  • Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience
  • State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
  • UW Medicine is committed to being a drug-free workplace. We require a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate home medication lists from admitted patients primarily through in person patient interviews in the Emergency Room (ER) and inpatient rooms, insurance claims and pharmacy phone calls.
  • Accurately electronically transcribe home medication lists into the electronic health record.
  • Escalate identified patient medication list concerns to pharmacist when needed.
  • Answer inquiries not requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgement.
  • Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, students, and interns.
  • Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Evening Shift Premium - $2.00/hour
  • Weekend Shift Premium - $2.50/hour
