About The Position
Assist nursing/medical staff with Prescription Assistance Program using Med Data Services. Assist in main pharmacy with the filling and processing of prescriptions. as needed during absences of other pharmacy technicians.
Requirements
- TN Licensure/Registration required
- Working knowledge of Word Processing software.
- Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with clients, coworkers, and members of management.
- Excellent professional customer service skills required.
Nice To Haves
- Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in retail pharmacy with knowledge of third-party processing preferred
- Knowledge of third-party insurance processing preferred.
- Proficiency in English/Spanish a plus.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and enters patient demographics and income information.
- Reviews Nextgen electronic health record information to aid in patient service.
- Meets with patients to explain options for obtaining free or discounted medications.
- Reviews patient’s current medications with provider/nurses.
- Enters all drug information into computer application as prescribed by ordering physician.
- Prints all applications and prepares for physician’s signature.
- Tracks medications in MedData as they are received and distributed.
- Runs and reviews reports to determine refills.
- Stays current on changes in TennCare pharmacy benefits and pharmaceutical company programs.
- Assist pharmacists with daily filling and processing of prescriptions using Rx30 software system.
- Processes ward stock orders for outlying clinics.
- Other duties as assigned.
