About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting customers with their pharmaceutical and wellness needs in a safe and courteous manner. This position formally reports to the Pharmacist in Charge and is classified as non-exempt. The technician will engage in various tasks to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements

• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Retail Pharmacy Software, and POS System experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement the Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Courteously receive new and refilled prescriptions from customers.
• Verify name and address of the person for whom the prescription is filled.
• Process cash register transactions for prescriptions.
• Provide necessary communications to customers regarding instructions, side effects, and medication descriptions.
• Arrange customer consultations with the Pharmacist when requested.
• Procure signatures from customers for all prescriptions received.
• Answer incoming calls and direct them to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
• Complete and process third-party documents.
• Fill prescription books or new prescriptions.
• File patient profiles.
• Fill bins with prescription vials.
• Process incoming orders to ensure items ordered match items shipped.
• Check items for appropriate shelf life before expiration.
• Remove outdated items from stock as necessary.
• Clean pharmacy shelves and work areas.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve the Pharmacist when necessary.
• Operate all necessary equipment safely and competently.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.
• Demonstrate essential written communication skills.
