About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year of IV pharmacy technician experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Licenses/Certifications as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Mid-level pharmacy technician experience.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care and Alere high-risk pregnancy medications.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the Sterile Compounding room and ensure quality assurance as per USP 797 guidelines.
• Fill prescriptions and prepare Sterile Compounding under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
• Stage, prepare, and fill orders for residents at long-term care facilities and for high-risk pregnant women.
• Compound Sterile Compounding orders and syringes in a Class 100 clean room.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry and calling nursing homes for refill orders.
• Maintain and clean equipment, ensuring accountability of pumps.
• File, answer phones, and stock areas in the IV department as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration and safety.
• Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) for Long Term Care Facilities.
• Communicate any concerns regarding USP 797 and operations to the pharmacist or supervisor.
