Pharmacy Technician IV - Specialist
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician IV - Specialist assists in the preparation and distribution of medications using appropriate pharmaceutical technique, computer programs and various technical automation equipment. Pharmacy Technician IV has specialized experience in pharmacy working with non-sterile or sterile preparations and contributes to the effective operation of the department. Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience in a pharmacy setting as a pharmacy technician.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO
- One of the following: Certified Pharmacy Technician - National, ExCPT Pharmacy Technician required upon hire
- Employees must obtain Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO or equivalent within 90 days
- PHARM TECH REG MO Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO Only if primary work location is in Missouri Required 90 Days
- PHARM TECH REG KS Registered Pharmacy Technician - KS Only if primary work location is in Kansas Required 90 Days
Nice To Haves
- Experience in both hospital and retail setting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Contributes to the effective operation of the department.
- Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
