About The Position

Maine Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician IV for Outpatient Infusion Therapy. This role functions at the highest level under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, performing daily preparation of nonhazardous and hazardous parenteral injections for pediatric and adult patients. The technician will also be responsible for specialized medication procurement and inventory control of medication and non-medication supplies. Additionally, this position serves as a technician leader, mentor, and trainer for other pharmacy technicians.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician.
• CPhT or PTCB certificate required within one year of hire and maintain.
• Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician in healthcare or related environment required.
• Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Pharmacy Technician III role.
• Able to meet requirements of sterile compounding within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nonhazardous and hazardous parenteral injections for patients.
• Manage specialized medication procurement and inventory control.
• Serve as a technician leader, mentor, and trainer for other pharmacy technicians.
