About The Position

The pharmacy technician prepares and provides clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications used to support our core business offerings. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Must be able to work Full-time, Monday-Friday 10:30am-7pm, 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Must have experience with IV compounding and knowledge of medications (minimum of 1 year on the job experience, no clinicals)
  • Must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy Technician
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or as required by the BOP
  • Minimum experience working as a technician in the pharmacy IV room of a hospital.
  • Current registration and ACPE requirements are met
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent sterile compounding technique
  • Basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB Certification preferred
  • Prior technician experience with a home infusion company preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sterile preparation of IV / infused medications under the direction of the pharmacist and in compliance with current regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
  • Maintains call and shipment schedules to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
  • Collects, documents, disseminates and coordinates customer communications, laboratory data and various clinical information with pharmacy, nursing and reimbursement staff.
  • Performs efficient data entry of pertinent patient and prescription information into company’s pharmacy software system, as allowed by BOP regulations.
  • Performs all cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state BOP regulations.
  • Participates in company’s quality assurance and performance improvement program.
  • Remains current with the BOP continuing education requirements, and completes Soleo’s annual re-credentialing process.
  • Performs receiving and storage of medications and supplies from vendors.
  • Performs the picking/packaging of supplies and medications for shipment to the customer home.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled inventory counts and complies with Soleo’s formulary management program.
  • Obtains additional state technical licensure/registration as requested to support the geographic service area of the branch.
