About The Position

Pharmacy IV Admixture Technician Description: Dayton Physicians Network is looking to add a Pharmacy IV Admixture Technician to our organization! Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 4 days a week/8 hour shifts No weekends, evenings, or holidays! Work/life balance schedules Covering other Hematology Oncology locations as needed. Summary: The IV Admixture Technician prepares parenteral chemotherapy admixtures, manages inventory and maintains detailed documentation in compliance with established procedures as well as federal and state regulations. Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two years’ experience in compounding IV admixtures including IV chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs.
  • In addition, this position requires knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures, knowledge of medications and medical supplies, strong mathematical computation skills and great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of medications and supplies for distribution including: chemotherapeutic agents, non-chemotherapy IV mixtures and large – volume intravenous mixtures
  • Properly dispose of materials used when mixing chemo and non-chemo IV’s
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
  • Check for outdated items
  • Maintain clean admixture environment per state and federal regulations and DPN policies and procedures
  • Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values
  • Other duties as assigned
