About The Position

Pharmacy IV Admixture Technician Description: Dayton Physicians Network is looking to add a Pharmacy IV Admixture Technician to our organization! Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 4 days a week/8 hour shifts No weekends, evenings, or holidays! Work/life balance schedules Covering other Hematology Oncology locations as needed. Summary: The IV Admixture Technician prepares parenteral chemotherapy admixtures, manages inventory and maintains detailed documentation in compliance with established procedures as well as federal and state regulations. Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two years’ experience in compounding IV admixtures including IV chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs.
In addition, this position requires knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures, knowledge of medications and medical supplies, strong mathematical computation skills and great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation of medications and supplies for distribution including: chemotherapeutic agents, non-chemotherapy IV mixtures and large – volume intravenous mixtures
Properly dispose of materials used when mixing chemo and non-chemo IV’s
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
Check for outdated items
Maintain clean admixture environment per state and federal regulations and DPN policies and procedures
Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values
