About The Position

It's more than a career, it's a calling. A Pharmacy Technician prepares intravenous admixtures, enters medication orders and maintains patient profiles, and assists the pharmacist in medication dispensing and order filling.

Requirements

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of relevant hospital pharmacy technician experience, or two years of retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
• REQUIRED LICENSURE: Missouri Pharmacy Technician Registration.

Responsibilities

• Follows department policy and procedure for preparing and dispensing pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Develops and maintains pharmacy information system order entry and report generation skills.
• Delivers, picks up and debits/credits pharmacy items from nursing areas.
• Completes required paperwork for area.
• Maintains complete and accurate patient records.
• Practices according to safety and infection control policies.
• Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous, and respectful manner.
• Incorporates Quality Assessment into one’s daily work.
• Provides age-appropriate care
