The main function of the position is to assist in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications and to perform clerical duties within the department. All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).

Requirements

  • Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information
  • Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments
  • Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements
  • Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Hospital’s Information System (Pharmacy and B/AR)
  • Ability to work in Microsoft’s Word and Excel
  • Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system’s goals and expectations
  • High School education

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician certification & NYS license preferred

Responsibilities
