As a PRN Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient, you'll play a key role in supporting safe and efficient medication delivery by preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, operating the carousel system, answering calls and assisting with daily pharmacy operations. While your work may not always involve direct patient interaction, your accuracy and attention to detail will have a meaningful impact on patient care and treatment outcomes. A caregiver in this role will work varying shifts, providing coverage for other caregivers on PTO, call offs and weekends.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
- Registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
- Six months of hospital experience
Responsibilities
- Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the Registered Pharmacist.
- Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
- Fill medications carts daily.
- Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
- Repackage bulk medications.
