Responsible for tasks such as filling prescriptions, maintaining medication inventory, and processing insurance claims, ensuring that pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. About the Department UVA Health’s Inpatient Pharmacy serves an average daily census of 528 patients across the hospital. Our pharmacy technicians are essential to the safe and timely delivery of medications, working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists or independent practitioners. What We Do Pharmacy Technicians in this department: Prepare and label medications for inpatient use Deliver medications directly to nursing units and patient care areas Support clinical workflows and medication safety protocols Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accuracy and efficiency Note: Sterile compounding is performed in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art IV clean room.
