About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to learn the skills needed to become a pharmacy technician. This is an entry-level position in which the trainee assists the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with the preparation of prescriptions by retrieving, counting, measuring, and sometimes mixing the medication. This person will submit refill requests, ring up orders, stock medications; file prescription paperwork, and help Pharmacists in ensuring our customers receive the correct medications as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities

Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
Ensures the pharmacy is clean, sanitized, well-maintained, and meets company standards of appearance.
Delivers excellent customer service while assisting customers at the pharmacy counter and over the phone
Assists with inputting patient and prescription information to produce labels and to assist in prescription filling process.
Matches prescription with labels.
Selects proper drug and quantity to be dispensed, fills container, applies labels, and presents completed product to pharmacist for checking
Assists with OTC product or supplies to correct patient in helpful and caring manner.
Verifies whether the information on the prescription is complete and accurate
Cashiers for pharmacy customers
Files prescriptions and transaction documents of pharmacy operations
Promotes Foodie Club Card at each transaction
Receives and stocks product for the pharmacy
Removes product from the shelves according to Harmons’ expiration date policies
Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
Sets a professional and positive example to others
Communicates effectively and works closely with the Pharmacy Manager and Lead Pharmacy Technician
Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
