About The Position

PRIMARY DUTIES: • Enrolling and assisting patients by apply for medication-related patient assistance programs. • Complete necessary documentation and signatures from patients and medical providers as required by various assistance program. • Scanning, sorting, and inputting all processed and approved PAP applications. • Appropriate follow-up and completion of applications to ensure patient care. • Respond to electronic inboxes, voicemails, and telephone inquiries. • Identify gaps in medication access for the Waco Family Medicine patient population. • Work directly with medical and pharmacy leadership to solve problems regarding medication access. • The ability to work with general instructions, but will encounter variations in procedure that require use of judgment. • Verification and procurement of medications shipped to the pharmacy. • Process and fill prescriptions as requested by patients and pharmacy team members. • Work directly within the pharmacy as a pharmacy technician when requested or directed by the Director of Pharmacy OTHER DUTIES: • Other duties as assigned by Director of Pharmacy Services. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: • Visual and auditory accuracy • Shift length - 8 hours • Indoor setting • Continuous use of computer • Long periods of sitting and/or standing • Frequent use of telephone • Continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands • Continuous conversational communication • Occasional reaching, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting and climbing • Occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs. • Occasionally working in confined, noisy, dusty areas • Frequent use of personal car • Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions • Memorize and retain instructions • Read and interpret detailed specifications

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy – Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
