About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician III will perform all job duties of Pharmacy Technician II as applicable. In addition, the Pharmacy Technician III will have specialized duties associated with hazardous drug compounding under USP 800/797 standards including proper handling, preparation, and disposal of hazardous medications in designated clean rooms and containment secondary engineering controls (C-SECs). The Pharmacy Technician III will maintain certification in aseptic technique and hazardous drug handling, perform environmental monitoring, and document quality control measures. Additional specialized duties include chemotherapy preparation, procurement/inventory management and medication history collection.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Business/college courses preferred.
  • Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy required upon hire or transfer
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification required upon hire or transfer.
  • 1 year hospital, retail, or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) pharmacy experience
  • Current Level II Pharmacy Technician with minimum 6 months in position; 1 year waiting period required if previously transferred positions
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills
  • Proficient in pharmacy computer systems
  • Effective communication and patient confidentiality practices
  • Flexible schedule including various shifts and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Business/college courses preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred
