About The Position

Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is a state-of-the-art acute care facility, reflecting Orlando Health’s continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we’ve proudly served for over 40 years. The hospital offers a full range of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular care, general surgery, orthopedics, women’s services with labor and delivery, and a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds and spanning 455,000 square feet, the hospital is designed for future expansion up to 240 beds. Advanced facilities include operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, a vascular lab, an ICU, and a full-service emergency department. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with operational and distribution responsibilities related to pharmacy functions at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital. This role supports the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient medication services within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must maintain current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 1 year and up to 4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates understanding of safety, emergency, and risk management procedures.
  • Understands the hospital mission, personnel policies, goals, customer service standards, and objectives of the Pharmacy and Orlando Health.
  • Familiar with general duties and processes of the Pharmacy department.
  • Identifies and utilizes resources and departments for customer service and patient care based on need and availability.
  • Operates pharmacy equipment in accordance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures consistent with scientific principles and departmental policies.
  • Executes drug procurement and buyer procedures in line with departmental and organizational standards.
  • Assists pharmacists in medication distribution, including aseptic admixture techniques (e.g., chemotherapy) and tasks related to automated dispensing cabinets.
