This job is at our Winchester Center for Cancer Care, 620 Washington St. Full-time Days, no evenings, no holidays, Tier one medical center pay, free on-site parking. Responsible for unit dose distribution including familiarity with medications, dosage forms and storage requirements. Will also compound sterile and non-sterile medication preparations. Communicates with pharmacists and nursing staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of medications. Delivers medications, including controlled substances, to nursing areas and ancillary departments in accordance with established policies and procedures, and DEA and DPH regulations. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: 1. Restocks automated dispensing machines (ADSs) and floor stock medications. Follows relevant Epic workflows including but not limited to loading medications, dispensing doses, dispense tracking, and fulfilling cart fill items. 2. Delivers all medication in compliance with all DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulations 3. Prepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal USP 797 & USP 800 standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes relevant Quality Assurance processes. 4. Compounds non-sterile products and repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal USP 795 & USP 800 standards. 5. Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets. Ensures that all expired/damaged medications are disposed of in accordance with RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH regulations. 6. Participates in the continued training of and provides mentorship to students and pharmacy technicians 7. Prepares specialized sterile and/or non-sterile products including TPNs, neonatal, hazardous, and chemotherapeutic & study medications in accordance with Federal USP 797, USP 795, and USP 800 standards. 8. Suggests workflow efficiencies and works with the Technician III staff and Lead technicians to help implement new practices 9.
