Position Summary The primary responsibility of a Pharmacy Technician II is to accurately, and efficiently perform front store related tasks: prescription entry and customer service. This may also include backend store fulfillment functions which includes filling and shipping prescription medications, and inventory put away. Operating hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 7:00pm Saturday: 9:45am - 5:00pm Sunday: Closed

Requirements

  • 1+ years of computer experience.
  • 3+ months as a pharmacy technician or in a pharmacy environment, or completion of a pharmacy technician-training program
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and stand on feet all day.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry of prescription orders including calculation of dosing, assignment of directions and accurate interpretation of prescription requirements.
  • Perform verification of benefits, and insurance funding by contacting insurance companies.
  • Outreach to patients and healthcare professionals for resolution of issues.
  • Obtain Prior Authorizations and manage the PA process for the patient.
  • Research patient assistance when needed and complete the steps necessary to help the patients to receive funding.
  • Perform duties allowable by the state if CPhT Certified
  • Perform Tech I functions when necessary to support the pharmacy operations.
  • Provide customer service to walk in customers.
  • Fill and ship prescription medication orders.
  • Assist with inventory put away if needed.
  • Operate the cash register, accept payment and accurately distribute the medication order to the patient.
  • Contact patients by making refill reminder calls to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with prescription data entry when needed.
