About The Position

Among the Franciscan team, the Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacists in a variety of technical duties related to the filling of medication orders or IV Admixtures. This position participates technical and administrative functions related to the pharmacy. Mix Shift Rotations of mid shifts/evenings shifts. Rotation of Weekends (currently every 4th weekend) and Holidays (currently 2 per year) WHO WE ARE With 12 ministries and access points across Indiana and Illinois, Franciscan Health is one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Enter charges and credits into computer. Restocking and checking of Pyxis machines and nursing units including onsite and offsite units. Verify integrity of medications in Pyxis machines / floor stock areas. Check for appropriate dating, and stock levels. Make routine deliveries of filled medication orders and pick up new orders to be filled. Package and maintain records of medications not prepackaged. Assist as a “second check” in the accuracy of the order entry process. Monthly checking of assigned departments for outdates. Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Pharmacy Tech-In-Training
  • Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) - State Licensing Board
  • Pharmacy Tech, State Cert (PHT) - State Licensing Board
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
