Summary: The registered and certified pharmacy technician II works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the pharmacy department. Additionally, provides a high level of assistance in distribution, dispensing, and compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications, and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5K, contingent upon the applicant's qualifications and subject to certain eligibility requirements. Please note, that candidates must possess prior inpatient work experience to qualify for the sign-on bonus

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (ACPHT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Certified Pharmacy Technician Exam (EXCPT) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work well with others in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond positively in a stressful environment and meet the physical demands of the department.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Performs sterile compounding, including limited hazardous medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Able to perform all activities per pharmacy technician scope of practice
  • Competent and skilled to perform all duties of Technician I.
  • Assists with procurement of medications and supplies through various ordering platforms.
  • Assists with process improvement and continuous quality and safety monitoring initiatives.
