Position Overview The Pharmacy Technician II - Clinical Services at our Wilson Community Health Center supports the comprehensive clinical pharmacy and enabling services. These services include medication therapy management, medication adherence clinic, value-based model appointments, Medicare Part D counseling, etc. This position will also serve in functions of the dispensing pharmacy as needed. The Pharmacy Technician is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals within an ambulatory clinic/pharmacy setting. In addition to traditional Pharmacy Technician II - Clinical Services responsibilities (prescription entry, medication preparation, and customer service) within the in-house pharmacies, responsibilities include a variety of tasks which include contacting patients by phone for various clinical pharmacy and/or enabling services, maintaining the appointment schedules for the clinical pharmacists, preliminary patient interview during appointments, and data entry into various computer-based or web-based systems for the purposes of documentation or data collection. THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORKWEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is required.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must be self-directed with good organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a high level of comfort interacting with medical providers, pharmacists, pharmacy department staff, and, most importantly patients.
  • Previous pharmacy work experienced is required.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's license - travel is required to all Carolina Family Health locations.
  • Within 6 months of hire, must become a trained Medicare counselor through the North Carolina Department of Insurance Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program.

Responsibilities
