About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • WA State Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • 1 year pharmacy technician experience or completion of Fred Hutch pharmacy apprentice program.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, and enter data accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and label medication accurately and efficiently.
  • Compounding sterile intravenous admixtures including hazardous, non-hazardous, and Investigational Drug Service medications.
  • Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, apprentices, and interns.
  • Triage incoming phone calls and electronic messages relating to medications.
  • Interact with professional and technical staff in a courteous manner.
  • Clean and restock sterile compounding areas.
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties in accordance with regulations under Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission.
  • Manage inventory of investigational products, including ordering, receiving, organizing, and monitoring use.
  • Maintain adequate on-site drug inventory to meet patient needs and perform inventory outdates.
  • Monitor automated dispensing machines and prepare stock for pharmacist check.
