The Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience or completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • TSBP Registration
  • Demonstrated ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
  • Math cash handling - demonstrated ability to add and subtract; able to make change; able to complete daily cash report
  • Type 20 WPM
  • Stress tolerance - to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical Stamina - to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy

  • Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

Responsibilities

  • Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
  • Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions
  • Stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items
  • Maintaining the OTC areas
  • Processing clinic medication requisitions
  • Other duties as required by the pharmacist
