About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician II Inpatient role at AdventHealth involves providing medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks. The technician will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This full-time position operates on the 2nd shift, with responsibilities that include maintaining customer service and supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy department.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the respective state or within 90 days based on state requirement.
• Sterile Compounding Certification (if applicable to facility).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science, business, or healthcare.
• One year of contemporary hospital pharmacy, retail, or ambulatory experience.
• Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or from the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT).

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications.
• Manage inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond accurately to medication dispensing requests.
• Prepare medications for pharmacist final review/check.
• Deliver checked medications and return unused or expired medications to appropriate areas.
• Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.
• Perform pharmacy technician functions and maintain proficiency in operational programs.
• Support automated dispensing cabinet inventory management and troubleshoot issues.
• Accurately complete medication inventories and prepare patient-specific medication doses.
• Identify and report potential medication errors and facilitate medication safety practices.
