Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Required: Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing with the appropriate board of pharmacy or application submitted.
Responsibilities
- Complete basic and advanced technician training modules to gain essential computer RX knowledge.
- Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction with pharmacy services.
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries that don’t require pharmacist expertise.
- Receive new prescriptions and process refill requests from prescribers.
- Gather and record necessary information to prepare prescriptions efficiently.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions by counting, pouring, and labeling medications.
- Maintain a well-stocked pharmacy department by ordering and checking-in supplies.
- Prepare insurance claims and confirm payment processing.
- Help patients locate over-the-counter (OTC) medications.
- Complete housekeeping duties within the pharmacy environment.
- Make deliveries to clients and manage payment transactions when needed.
- Engage in staff development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
