Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and according to standard procedures, the Pharmacy Technician I assists in transcription, storage, preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications. This entry-level pharmacy position is responsible for learning and assisting with non-sterile and/or sterile compounding, operating pharmacy automation systems, and maintaining accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves distributing medications to designated areas, returning unused, discontinued, or damaged doses to the pharmacy, properly utilizing automation for medication security, supporting inventory management activities, ensuring clean and rotated inventory, adhering to regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards, completing documentation, promoting a safe practice environment, reporting safety events, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA. The technician is expected to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
