About The Position

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy at Centerra in Lebanon, NH seeks a pharmacy technician to join our team. In this role, the pharmacy technician works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to support the Retail Pharmacy, including: working the register, billing insurance, dispensing product, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean workspace. Full-time and per diem positions are available. Our ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, and an attention to detail. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, though all are encouraged to apply. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy operates 24 hours/day, 365 days a year. We have a dedicated staff of over 40 technicians and pharmacists combined, and each one is encouraged to work to the top of their certification or licensure to promote patient health and well-being. Requirements

  • Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations.

Responsibilities

  • Answers Phones.
  • Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
  • Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots.
  • May assist with orienting and training pharmacy department staff.
  • Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assists in revising policy and procedure.
  • Delivers meds to beds or patient care area.
  • Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist (Inpatient Only).
  • Maintains the hardware and software of the department's multiple computer systems.
  • Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist (Outpatient Only).
  • Takes verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.
  • Processes third party claims.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
