About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I position at Texas Health Arlington is a PRN role, meaning it is as needed with rotating shifts. The technician will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications, ensuring compliance with departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards. The role also involves ongoing professional development, effective communication, and teamwork, as well as training new employees under the direction of designated personnel. The technician will share responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering new process efficiencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required.
  • 1 year of experience in hospital experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Other IV Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work and maintenance of required competencies and documentation.
  • Reflecting departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leading by example and managing own time.
  • Communicating effectively and developing positive working relationships.
  • Role modeling teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
  • Training new employees on routine tasks under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Sharing responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
