Under the direct supervision of the Area Director or a Registered Pharmacist and according to the standard procedures, this role compounds and readies for dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving orders from physicians or other qualified prescribers. Responsibilities also include maintaining the drug inventory, maintaining records, processing patient charge documents and labels, mixing IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique, and inspecting medication units. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
