As a Pharmacy Technician I/II in the Infusion Pharmacy at Duke University Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This position is located in the Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy, where you will work alongside a dedicated team to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will perform a variety of duties under supervision, including the procurement, preparation, distribution, and storage of medications. You will also assist with clinical pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with department procedures and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include accurately processing prescriptions, restocking medication cabinets, answering phone calls, and collaborating with the pharmacy team and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues. You will also be involved in medication safety initiatives and patient follow-up calls, contributing to the overall quality of care provided to our patients. For those at the Pharmacy Technician II level, you will take on additional responsibilities, including performing clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist, managing individual responsibilities with minimal supervision, and assisting in the training of new employees. You will be expected to demonstrate advanced competency in pharmacy technician tasks and maintain certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
