About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, to assist them in their day-to-day tasks to prepare and dispense pharmaceutical drugs in accordance with standards, State and Federal laws, and department policies and procedures. Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician will vary depending on the location of pharmacy practice.

Requirements

• For Pharmacy Technician I: No minimum experience required.
• For Pharmacy Technician II: One year experience in pharmacy or equivalent, or completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• For Pharmacy Technician III: Three years experience in pharmacy or equivalent, or completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program and two years experience.
• For Pharmacy Technician Senior: Five years experience in pharmacy or equivalent, or completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program and four years experience.
• Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure required, or application in pending status accepted.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Six months of experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or customer service for Pharmacy Technician I.
• Advanced pharmacy technician certification (CPhT-Adv or CSPT) for Pharmacy Technician II, III, and Senior.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing pharmaceutical drugs.
• Ensure compliance with standards, State and Federal laws, and department policies.
• Perform tasks as assigned based on the location of pharmacy practice.

Benefits

• Level 1 benefit package for positions listed as 30 hours per week or greater.
• Level 2 benefit package for positions listed as 20 – 29 hours per week.
• Non-benefited for positions listed as less than 19 hours per week.
