About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I-Certified IV Room at Novant Health is responsible for supporting the hospital pharmacy team in delivering optimal medication management. This role involves sterile compounding and medication preparation under the supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring quality care for patients across all age groups. The position operates on a 7on/7off schedule during the first shift, with potential for a signing bonus for qualified applicants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2 Year / Associate Degree preferred.
• One year relevant experience preferred; if Associate's Degree in Pharm Tech, experience is included in schooling.
• Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy required.
• PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire or proof of enrollment in pharmacy school/FPGEE/FPGEC required.
• State Registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for both Pharmacists and Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration.

Nice To Haves

• Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects.
• Ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and communication skills with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Filling and delivering medication orders for all age groups under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Performing non-sterile compounding and repackaging.
• Answering and screening telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate.
• Processing cart fills, refills to automated dispensing machines, and replenishments to emergency kits and carts.
• Demonstrating proficiency with equipment and software.
