About The Position

Advance Community Health is seeking dedicated Pharmacy Technicians for our Advance Axcess Clinic on Capital Blvd in Raleigh, NC location. Under the direction of a Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technicians will work in the pharmacy providing a combination of institutional and community pharmacy services. This position involves supporting clinical staff and providing patients with excellent customer service in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Program or Associates Degree in Pharmacy Technology from a NCBOP approved institution.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Community Health Center pharmacy experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience with pharmacy computer software
  • Experience entering Pharmacy Home Project Comprehensive Medication Reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting clinical staff and providing patients with excellent customer service.
  • Prescription processing at all workstations: prescription intake, data entry, filling, operating a register.
  • Manage workflow in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Interview patients to obtain financial and plan specific information required for bulk medication programs like Direct Relief, Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
  • Manage multiple drug inventories, physical and virtual, according to policies and procedures of individual programs such as 340B, samples, clinic stock medications and bulk medication programs.
  • Provide friendly support services to clinic staff.
  • Assist the pharmacist with administrative functions associated with Comprehensive Medication Reviews.
  • Under the direction of the pharmacist, complete and document in the EMR, Prior Authorizations for clinic providers.
  • Assist patients with complicated medication regimens by organizing and packaging medications in adherence packaging cards.
  • Document pharmacy related communications in the patient EMR.
  • Assists patients with drug assistance applications after other affordable medication resources have been exhausted.
