About The Position

The position involves maintaining a professional image and exhibiting excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with the Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. The role requires conveying the message of the Service Excellence Standards, including the Value of Caring, Value of the Person, Value of Quality, and Value of Integrity in every interaction. The technician will understand the components of the Patient Medication Profile and use this information for problem resolution. Additionally, the technician will utilize pharmacy software to participate in workflow and assist in resolving medication-related issues. The role includes maintaining accuracy of medication documentation or charges, charging for dispensed medications, and crediting medications that are returned to the pharmacy. The technician will assist the Pharmacists in the operation of the Drug Distribution System and participate in staff huddles. They will perform state certified technician tasks as outlined by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The technician is expected to work well with others as part of a team and maintain organization and cleanliness of the work environment. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration or Certification
  • Previous experience is preferred
