About The Position

Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description: Accurately measure, count, and label prescribed medications. Ensure prescriptions are filled correctly, including reviewing the medication name, dosage, and instructions. Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and health products. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while assisting customers. Track and manage inventory, ensuring the pharmacy has a sufficient stock of medications and supplies. Assist with ordering medications and supplies. Organize the storage of medications according to their categories and regulatory requirements. Properly store medications, including controlled substances, per regulatory guidelines. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of pharmacy areas. Update and maintain accurate patient records. Assist in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies. Some technicians may assist in compounding medications, preparing specialized doses, or mixing medications as prescribed by a pharmacist. Handle administrative tasks such as managing prescription logs, updating patient files, and performing billing and insurance verifications. In certain settings, pharmacy techs may help with medication therapy reviews and assist patients in understanding proper medication use. Ability to work across multiple office locations based on operational needs.
