Requirements

• Active registration with the TX State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee
• High School Graduate / GED
• Less than 1 year pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares and labels medications for final check and dispensing by the pharmacist
• Promptly respond to requests and customer needs
• Delivers medications and provides other distributional services and quality monitoring for patient care and ancillary areas
• Generates computer reports/patient records and maintain paper flow
• Actively participates in the quality improvement activities of the department
• Performs activities related to medication and supply purchasing, inventory control, and distribution according to approved policies and procedures
• Contributes to an efficient, productive workflow within the pharmacy
• Participates in process improvement teams when feasible or provides input and makes suggestions for improvement in cost effective delivery of services
• Assists in preparing outpatient prescriptions as needed but may not affix prescription label to container
• Demonstrates understanding of HCAs and Patients First safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
