About The Position

As an Operating Room Pharmacy Technician at Michigan Medicine, you will work within a highly collaborative team that includes Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Technician Supervisors and other medical professionals. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable
Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary

Responsibilities

Prepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapy for use during the peri-operative period
Deliver medications as needed to surgical rooms
Correctly distribute and account for controlled substance usage
Assist the Pharmacist with auditing controlled substance utilization
Stock medications shelves, manage inventory dating, return excess stock to inventory
Fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
Prepare and package non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticals
Prepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocols
Assist with training of staff
Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor
Other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications
