About The Position
As a Pharmacy Technician in Central Operations at YSC Central Pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of pharmaceutical services, ensuring that medications are distributed accurately and efficiently to patient care units. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of technical duties, including medication distribution, inventory management, and cross-functional proficiency in various pharmacy operations. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately picking, preparing, packaging, labeling, and delivering medications to the appropriate storage areas within patient care units. This includes managing automated dispensing cabinets and ensuring that medications are stored under optimal conditions to minimize errors and maintain safety. You will also assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care and will be involved in the timely replenishment of emergency medications. Your role will require you to maintain a clean and well-stocked work environment while adhering to departmental guidelines for medication management. Additionally, you will demonstrate proficiency in various areas of pharmacy operations, including IV admixture, purchasing, and compounding. You will be expected to utilize technology effectively, including electronic medical records and inventory management software, to enhance the efficiency of pharmacy services. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with nursing, provider, and ancillary staff to address inquiries and ensure the safe delivery of medications. Overall, your contributions will be vital in supporting the pharmacy's mission to provide high-quality patient care.
