About The Position

The position is within the Pharmacy department at Ascension St Vincent Carmel Hospital, located in Carmel, IN. This is a PRN (as needed) role that involves providing distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist. The responsibilities include refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing orders, maintaining inventory, repackaging bulk medications, receiving and storing incoming supplies, and serving as a liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and health professionals by providing necessary information.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: In Training Pharmacy Tech obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date; Licensed Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Indiana Board Of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date; Pharmacy Intern obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following preferred: Licensed Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB); Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professional by providing information as necessary.
