The Pharmacy Technician will help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders. This position involves utilizing pharmacy software to refill prescriptions, patient registration, and creating or updating patient profiles with health and insurance information. The technician will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in accordance with local, state, federal, and tribal regulations. Responsibilities also include receiving and storing incoming supplies, counting stock, entering data into the computer system to maintain inventory records, assisting with labeling and filling prescriptions, preparing pharmacy inventory, answering the phone, and communicating with prescribers to obtain refill authorization. The technician will also reconstitute oral suspensions, maintain awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields, maintain knowledge of loss prevention techniques, perform data entry, and update the clinical pharmacy package for electronic health records.
