About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Automation Specialist supports pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of medications within a high-volume Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. This role supports pharmacy automation systems, maintains medication inventory, coordinates medication synchronization, and assists with medication packaging and delivery workflows. Pharmacy Technician activities are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Hamilton Health Center policies and procedures. This position plays a critical role in ensuring medication accuracy, operational efficiency, and timely access to medications for patients across Hamilton Health Center locations.

  • Moderate to advanced computer skills and pharmacy system knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare staff
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a high-volume pharmacy environment
  • Completion of a State Board approved Pharmacy Technician Certification program (PTCB, NHA, ASHP, or equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel between Hamilton Health Center locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pharmacy automation systems, particularly Parata Pass
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily and monthly prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Support medication synchronization and adjudication of pharmacy claims
  • Assist with preparation of daily and monthly medication shipments
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and medication records
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automation equipment, including the Parata Pass system
  • Ensure dispensing units are stocked with the appropriate medications for each facility
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with pharmacy couriers and pharmacy staff
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, providers, nurses, pharmacy staff, and medical assistants
  • Maintain pharmacy equipment and ensure proper handling of all pharmacy supplies
  • Support patient adherence packaging programs
  • Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania pharmacy regulations and Hamilton Health Center policies
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts that support patient safety and medication access
  • Perform other duties as assigned
