About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensures patients receive the correct medication; packages and labels medication doses; fills routine orders for stock supplies to patient care areas; and assists in all aspects of IV admixture preparation and delivery. He/She complies with the standards, ethics, laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy, including the MS Board of Pharmacy and the Accreditation Agency standards. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Must complete application registration for Pharmacy Technician Student with the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
• Must obtain a valid Pharmacy Technician license/registration from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy by the end of the apprenticeship.
• Demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision-making abilities.
• Demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills.
