Job Profile Summary Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician Registered follows established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. The Pharmacy Technician Registered will perform packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records while pursuing completion of the Cleveland Clinic’s School of Pharmacy Technology program in the first 12 months of employment. As a Home Delivery Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician, you will support the Home Delivery, Specialty and Adherence Pharmacies to ensure that high-risk patients receive their medications in a timely manner. The Administrative Campus is rapidly expanding with new automation being implemented, allowing the pharmacy to scale 1,500-5,000 prescriptions per day. A caregiver in this position works as needed between 7:00AM – 6:00PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP)
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy OBOP) within 18 months.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) within 18 months of hire date
  • Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
  • Basic computer skills

  • Six months of hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Follow established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department.
  • Pursue completion of the Cleveland Clinic’s School of Pharmacy Technology program in the first 12 months of employment.
  • Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging and non-sterile compounding).
  • Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook.
