Requirements

  • Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and other pharmacy employees.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist in evaluating the progress of new employees.
  • Conduct competency assessments in aseptic technique and dosage calculations.
  • Compounds or reconstitutes special sterile and nonsterile dosage forms under the direction of a pharmacist.
  • Complete quality assurance inspections, medication distribution assignments, and drug inventory area maintenance.
  • Prepare and label sterile dosage forms such as IV solutions other injectable medications, and irrigation solutions.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
