About the Department The UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of just 57 in the nation to hold that designation by the National Cancer Institute, and the first in Virginia. At the Emily Couric Clinic Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy, our pharmacy technicians are essential to the safe, accurate, and patient‑centered preparation of intravenous (IV) chemotherapy and specialty infusion therapies. Requirements

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 6 Months minimum relevant experience required. Prior experience in sterile compounding environments preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required. CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
  • Physical Demands – Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.

  • Prior experience in sterile compounding environments preferred.
