Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and supporting day-to-day pharmacy operations. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, this entry-level role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy service delivery.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and medications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to use inventory management and pharmacy software systems
- Able to follow instructions and work under pharmacist supervision
- Demonstrates integrity, attention to detail, and customer service orientation
- Able to stand, move, lift, and bend for extended periods
- Must be able to handle physical and biological exposure typical in a hospital pharmacy environment
- High school diploma or equivalent or
- At least 16 yrs of age and actively working toward high school diploma (which includes dual-enrollment programs)
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration required, per state regulations or
- Pharmacy Technician-in-Training, where applicable
- Entry-level; experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting preferred

- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- Experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems
- Fills medication carts on a daily basis
- Prepares and restocks prepackaged medications and bulk inventory
- Verifies inventory, receives/stores supplies, and updates inventory records
- Assists in maintaining compliance with pharmacy storage and handling procedures
- Follows procedures for labeling and packaging to ensure accuracy
- Performs clerical duties to support pharmacy operations
